Bike tours
Sicily is made for cycling! You find old not trafficked asphalt roads going through magnificent landscapes. There is no shortage for small villages UNESCO protected, wonderful beaches and, last but not least – good food and wine! In Sicily you can cycle all year around. Cycle tourism is mostly unknown, so the road is all yours.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Sicilyexplorer has organized bike tours for about 20 years.
We both organize cycling tours in Sicily that you can ride by yourself (self-guided tours), or tours with guide and following car.
Self-guided bike tour: This typology is organized for a minimum of 2 people traveling together. You will cycle by yourself but you get the tour organized by Sicilyexplorer. We will deal with hotel and restaurant bookings, bikes with equipment (panniers, handlebar bag, pump, helmet), good maps and description of the route.
Also, we give assistance by phone during the entire tour. Many bring what they need on their bike. Therefore, spacious bike bags are part of the equipment given by Sicilyexplorer and we take care of your luggage while you are biking. Eventually, we can also organize transport from and to the airport, as well as transport of luggage between every place of accomodation. You are free to decide the period of the tour.
Guided bike tour: This typology is organized for a minimum of 8 people traveling together.
Bike tours with guide and following car have the same characteristics as above, but a guide and a car for various eventualities will follow you throughout the route. Here you usually will get a full board already booked.
All bike tours can be made both independently or with a guide and accompanying car.
TAILORMADE CYCLING TUOR
You know best what holiday you want to experience! Our cycling tours proposed in this website have to be viewed as examples for holidays on this island. They can be modified in order to fit your needs.
Together we can tailor your cycle holiday. You can cycle as many days you want. We help you with transport from the airport, booking of hotels and B&Bs, preparation of bikes of good quality, maps and description of the route.
If you wish, you can cycle in different directions from the same place. In this case, the cycle tour is as long as you want.
